What Our Nannies Can Do in Morzine
Whether your children are adventure souls or prefer to chill out, Morzine has it all! There are plenty of indoor and outdoor playgrounds, a heated baby pool at the swimming facility, and a tropical water park (Aquariaz) in nearby Avoriaz. Morzine also has an outdoor ice rink and sledging tracks with rentals available.
The spectacular ESF Torchlight Descent on Tuesday evenings, followed by fireworks show is worth watching. We can also introduce your children to the mountains via a scenic ride on the Pleney or Super Morzine Telecabine, where children under 5 ride for free.
Les Gets, a neighbouring village, features a charming wooden carousel, and Morzine itself has a traditional carousel in the town center. There is a large indoor swimming pool complex, perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and for more adventurous activities, there is snowshoe trekking, snowmobiling (for kids aged 8 and up), or night sledging.
For a magical experience, we can take your children for a horse-drawn sleigh ride as well as the Penguin Park, Santa’s grotto, and Morzine’s Enchanted Village. Morzine’s snow parks cater to children interested in freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
About Morzine
Morzine sits in the Chablais mountain range on the France-Switzerland border. The town of Morzine is located in the French Alps Vallee d’Aulps. Situated at an altitude of about 1,000 m, it is one of the most northerly of the French Alpine resorts, weatherwise benefiting from the Mont Blanc microclimate (the local micro-climate from Lake Geneva means that the area receives substantial snowfall during the winter months of November to April). The resort includes a reliable network of lifts extending to Chamossiere at 1800m and Avoriaz at 2100m. Morzine is centrally located within the Portes du Soleil ski region (650km ski area and one of the biggest ski regions in the world) and boasts a number of blue and red runs. There are direct links to Avoriaz and Les Gets via gondolas followed by a further two piste linked ski lifts.
There are a variety of off-slope amenities, both in the summer and winter, lively nightlife and access to 600km of ski terrain. It is an excellent resort choice for intermediates, mixed ability groups and families. Families will find cozy chalets, dedicated children’s areas, and top-notch ski schools. Morzine’s flat terrain and a free bus system ease transportation. Its relatively flat terrain makes it convenient to walk between your lodging and ski-related activities. For ski-in/ski-out options, Les Gets is nearby with lovely chalets and special winter sports areas for children.

Getting There
Morzine is one of the most accessible French ski resorts, perfect for travellers coming from nearby European cities or distant destinations.
Geneva Airport is the closest international airport, just over an hour away, at about 75 km (47 miles). Chambéry Airport (CMF) in France is another option, located 125 km (78 miles) from Morzine. Regular buses run from Geneva to Morzine. Though Morzine doesn’t have a train station, the closest options are Cluses and Thonon, each about 30 km (18 miles) away. To reach Morzine from these stations, take a bus or book a private taxi.
